One of the Midlands' leading insurance brokers, Brett and
Randall, has celebrated the start of work on new state-of-the-art
offices.
The £2.5 million building at Grove Park, Enderby, will
create room for expansion for the rapidly growing business. The
company has recruited six new employees in the past few months and
plans to attract more new quality staff over the next couple of
years.
The company has been established in Leicester for 28 years and
will be relocating at the end of next year.
The new building will also house the associated national network
group Brokerbility and Brokerbility Information Gateway.
Directors, colleagues and friends attended the turf cutting
ceremony at Grove Park that included a ritual Hindu blessing of the
land as the event coincided with the Hindu festival of light,
Diwali.
Lawyers Spearing Waite, surveyors Naylor Parkes, project
managers SKM Design and Grove Park developers were also in
attendance. Handelsbanken of Leicester provided the finance for the
deal.
Brett and Randall chairman Ashwin Mistry said: "In these times
of cutbacks and negative press, this is great news and will give us
the facilities we need to seize the opportunity to take the company
to the next level."
In late 2009 the management team, led by existing shareholder
Ashwin Mistry, took a major stake in the Leicester-based insurance
broker.
He praised the economic development company Prospect
Leicestershire for providing information on offices and land and
said: "although we would have preferred to stay in the city centre,
the lack of quality office space with adequate car parking meant we
had to look outside."
Last month the business acquired a majority stake in Northampton
firm O'Connor and Company. Both brokers specialise in providing
insurance solutions for the property and construction industry. The
Grove Park development demonstrates a clear commitment and vote of
confidence in the commercial property sector.
Brett and Randall is a founder member of The Brokerbility Group,
which places around £425 million of insurance premiums into
the UK market.
