A Leicestershire recovery company is lifting its business to new
heights after adding a 140 tonne metre heavy recovery vehicle to
its fleet with the support of Yorkshire Bank.
Unity Recovery Services is preparing to send its impressive new
Volvo Syren heavy recovery truck on missions for the first time,
having put the finishing touches to the paintwork and fully kitted
out the vehicle with top-of-the-range recovery equipment.
The family-owned and run firm is in its 62nd year of trading,
and has bases on Edge Hill Road in Leicester and on the A50 off
Junction 22 of the M1 at Markfield along with a garage repair base
in Wigston, has bought the new truck with the backing of Yorkshire
Bank's Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) on New Walk.
Owner John Rogers, who runs the company with his son, Jonathan,
daughter, Jeanette and fellow director Chris Barratt, said the
truck was as big as any recovery vehicle that is available on the
market.
"I look at recovery vehicles all over the world and this is by
far the most versatile I've seen and it has a 140 tonne metre
rotating crane," he said.
"The five axle Volvo appeared at the AVRO (Association of
Vehicle Recovery Operators) EX show recently, and it attracted more
attention than any other vehicle partly due its size, but also the
paintwork and the engineering quality and it really does look
superb at night with the fluorescent signage."
Unity recovers broken down and accident damaged vehicles across
the UK and Europe with Leicestershire Police Constabularly among
its clients and the future of the company is in safe hands,
according to John.
"We've been operating for 62 years now and remain true to the
family business ethos of Unity Recovery for remaining independant
and always providing an excellent service," he said.
"The company and our employees have worked hard to build a
strong reputation in the trade and with Jonathan, Jeanette and
Chris at the helm, I'm confident Unity will continue to go from
strength to strength.
"When my father, George Rogers, founded the company specialising
in light and heavy vehicle recovery he chose the name Unity as a
symbol of his aims to unite and help people and the company is now
in its fourth generation.
"Yorkshire Bank and Martin Palmer have also always been a great
source of support and advice for as long as I can remember and
we're delighted with their backing."
Martin, senior partner at Yorkshire Bank's Leicester FSC, said
he was delighted the bank had been able to play a part in
supporting Unity through its Investing for Growth
initiative.
"I've worked closely with John Rogers and the management team at
Unity for many years and I'm delighted the company has been able to
add this truck to its fleet with Yorkshire Bank's backing," he
said.
"We are keen to play our part in helping local businesses
achieve successful growth and have launched the Investing for
Growth initiative to help businesses grow and develop. We remain on
track to deliver our two-year new lending commitment of £10
billion by October 2011."
