Coventry University has officially opened its new London Campus
(CULC).
At the launch earlier this month, which was attended by the Vice
Chancellor of Coventry University, Professor Madeleine Atkins and
the University Chancellor, Sir John Egan, CULC opened its doors to
mark the start of a new learning opportunity for international
students.
CULC will be offering a range of professionally-oriented courses
including a portfolio of MBA programmes as well as the extremely
popular Coventry MBA in International Engineering Management and a
range of top-up undergraduate programmes.
Situated in the heart of London's financial district, just 250
metres from Liverpool Street Station, CULC has already attracted
international students from countries such as China, India, Nigeria
and the Middle East and boasts state-of-the-art facilities that
includes a unique fully simulated financial trading floor to
enhance business teaching and learning at the campus.
Talent and expertise will be of paramount importance to the UK
and other economies as the country strives to come out of the
global economic downturn and in this context, it is crucial that
students are able to secure courses that best meet their
needs.
The CULC courses have been developed in consultation with
business leaders and prospective MBA students. They draw on the
long-standing success of Coventry in delivering key programmes with
a strong vocational emphasis enhanced by the University's excellent
links with industry, and a focus on preparing students for
successful futures.
Janet Hannah, Director of CULC said:
"CULC gives the international student the opportunity to learn
about business and to study and work in one of the world's leading
financial markets, London. It is the ideal setting for
international students to immerse themselves in both the academic
and practical side of the business world. CULC is at the very heart
of London's financial district and is an exciting place to be."
Coventry programmes are already delivered at a variety of
locations in the UK and overseas through institutional
collaborations and this development extends the commitment to
enabling more individuals to take advantage of extremely popular
Coventry courses.
CULC complements the current expansion plans at the Coventry
campus where the University is spending £150m over the next
two years.
Janet Hannah added:
"Employability, enterprise and entrepreneurship is a vital part
of CULC's success and the popular feature of the programmes that we
deliver in London is that all the students will be offered real
work experience opportunities."
