Local businesses and creatives gathered at Bean Caffe in Friar
Gate Studios to celebrate the arrival of three of its latest
creative tenants.
'boast sponsorship', Baseline Creative and Cactus Images all
moved to the Studios on the same day and decided to throw a party
to introduce themselves to the local business community and network
with their creative neighbours.
'boast sponsorship' was launched earlier this year by James Drew
and Henry Guyler. The company, aims to bring sponsors and
sponsorship opportunities together to form mutually beneficial
relationships. The company is currently representing the Spartan
Ocean Racing Team, who are competing in the Velux 5 Oceans
Race.
Both Cactus Images and Baseline Creative have moved to the
Studios from Banks Mill Studio as part of their respective
expansion programmes.
Chris Howard and Angela Jenkins formed Cactus Images in 2008.
The company, which specialises in food and product photography,
needed to find new premises that would provide them with more space
and allow them to grow.
Baseline was established nearly eight years ago by creative
director Craig Barker. The creative company, which specialises in
branding, graphic design and web design, moved to Banks Mill in
2007, but needed new offices following their re-brand and taking on
two new additional members of staff. Baseline works for a variety
of organisations from small businesses and local charities up to
much larger well known organisations.
At the event, guests met the hosts and were treated to wine and
nibbles from the recently opened Bean Caffe.
Commenting on the event, James Drew, director of boast
sponsorship said:
"As a new business, moving into an environment like Friar Gate
Studios is extremely beneficial. The atmosphere in the building is
very exciting and there are lots of new contacts and opportunities
for collaboration. We all really enjoyed welcoming our guests and
getting to know each other's contacts.
Angela from Cactus Images added:
"Moving to Friar Gate Studios signals an exciting time for
Cactus Images and is a natural progression in our growth and
development. We look forward to becoming more involved in the Friar
Gate Studios' creative community."
Craig Barker from Baseline added:
"This move for Baseline sparks a new era. Baseline is becoming
stronger every month, with a positive attitude and collaboration,
businesses will be able to keep the recession a thing of the
past."
Centre manager, Andleeb Bhatti added:
"I am always delighted when tenants get involved with each
others' businesses, whether it be a collaboration on a specific
work project or an event like this.
"Friar Gate Studios houses some of the region's most talented
creatives and has quickly become a thriving community of like
minded people that have been able to forge some fruitful working
relationship. I look forward to many more collaborative projects
such as this one."
