Shropshire flag flown at Solar Conference

A leading Shropshire-based solar power company is flying the flag for the county after their high profile attendance at the recent Solar Power Conference 2010.

Representatives from Shrewsbury-based Mipower attended the two day conference and exhibition, which is the first official one of its kind in the UK, and shared their expertise with other trained solar professionals from across the length and breadth of the country.

"It was a great opportunity to share best practice and to discuss the rapidly changing solar market here in the UK" explained Mipower's Technical Director, Robert Rust. "The conference focused on the domestic market here at home, as well as applications for agricultural and other commercial premises, and we were delighted to take part."

Mipower officially launched at this year's Shrewsbury Flower Show and has been working with home owners, farmers, and business people from across the county to advise on the most appropriate use of Photovoltaic panels to generate electricity. "Some of our clients are excited by the opportunity to harness such green energy and feel that by investing in solar they're doing their bit for the environment" Rob explained, "while others are keener on the significant savings on their electricity bills, particularly with costs rising so much at the moment."

"The recent confirmation that the Government-supported Feed-in-Tariffs are safe has certainly done lots to reassure people across the county that any electricity they generate, which they don't directly use, will automatically be sold back to the National Grid and will earn them a healthy profit, and we've been thrilled with the level of interest we're already receiving.

Mipower is proud of its expertise and experience in the market and plans to continue to attend and exhibit at leading events across the country in the coming year. "If we can share our expertise then that's got to be good for us as a business, and for the county as a whole, and in return our customers can be assured that we are absolutely up-to-date on the very latest procedures and practices" Rob concluded.

An independent and forward-thinking company, Mipower specialises in the design and installation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels. Through the offer of bespoke energy solutions to meet individual client needs, the company helps private homeowners, businesses and communities to generate their own electricity and, ultimately, save money. Mipower's professional and friendly team is highly experienced, and its installers are all Government-approved under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for renewable energies. Providing expert advice and guidance, the team ensures that its customers not only save money by reducing their energy bills, but also cut their carbon footprint, and earn money at the same time through the Feed-in-Tariff scheme.
