A Shrewsbury business consultancy has today announced the sale
of one of the most exciting leisure and property developments to
come onto the market this year, after acting as advisors to the
vendors and successfully sourcing a suitable purchaser despite the
challenging current economic situation.
The sale, which was negotiated for an undisclosed sum, followed
two years of preparation work by The Business Company to overcome
challenges faced internally by the business and maximise the full
value of the 405 acre Roserrow Estate set in one of the most
prestigious areas of North Cornwall where it spans the coast around
Polzeath.
The complex combines a golf and leisure complex with a diverse
holiday property portfolio ranging from apartment style lets
through to high end luxury homes.
Speaking about his company's role in the sale, Mark Harris,
Managing Director of The Business Company, said: "This was a very
complex proposition - given the current economic climate and the
particular challenges faced by this business we had to undertake
extensive research to find a purchaser who had a unique requirement
for this type of scheme."

"After carrying out an initial analysis to gain a detailed
knowledge of the business, we identified where the business was
currently positioned in the marketplace and confirmed the extent of
its full future potential. This included ensuring that all relevant
planning permissions were in place for future development. The next
stage was to develop a detailed sales proposition and undertake
extensive market research to identify suitable purchasers. We then
worked through a defined process to identify the best deal for our
client before leading the negotiation process, during which we
worked alongside solicitors and accountants to ensure that a
satisfactory deal was brokered."
"Being able to prove the future potential of a business is
absolutely essential to maximising its value, irrespective of what
the business is, and that is the difference between involving a
business consultancy practice in the sale as opposed to trying to
sell a valuable business through "an agent's shop window" -
particularly in the current climate when very little commercial
business is moving."
