Shropshire's leading law firm Lanyon Bowdler continues to thrive
with the recent expansion of its already well renowned employment
law department.
The department, led by partner John Merry, now consists of
solicitors Malkit Uppal, Jenny Gibson, managing partner David
Battisby, and the latest addition to the team, Bethan Jones, who
joined the firm as a trainee two years ago and qualified as a
solicitor in September 2010. John Merry says "I am delighted
that Bethan has joined the team. She will be a valuable asset
as the employment law department continues to grow".
With offices in Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Oswestry, Telford and
Wellington, Lanyon Bowdler provide first class expert advice in all
areas of employment law, and have an excellent reputation as one of
the leading advisers to both employers and employees across
Shropshire and the surrounding counties.
Recently, John Merry responded to the popularity and success of
his regular employment law seminars by scheduling a series of
seminars across the county to cover the recently introduced
Equality Act 2010. As ever, the response to the seminars was
excellent, with positive feedback from delegates who confirmed
John's presentation provided an easy to understand, yet
comprehensive and informative review of the new act.
John's reputation as a leading employment law specialist with a
practical and straight talking approach is well known, and both he
and his department received recommendations this year in the
leading Legal Sector directory, the Legal 500. The employment
department moved up a tier in the directory, and particular comment
was made about John, saying his 'level of knowledge and pragmatic
attitude are second to none'.
Managing Partner, David Battisby, says of the department's
recommendations: "The UK Legal 500 is regarded as the country's
leading legal directory, it contains independent recommendations of
law firms and lawyers throughout the UK. Its recommendations are
based on a substantial amount of research, including discussion
with our clients. I am therefore delighted that our
employment team have been recommended for the outstanding service
to clients they provide, and the department only goes from strength
to strength".
