The break up of any relationship is difficult, without the often
traumatic and stressful process of taking a dispute to court. A new
approach to resolving problems, called collaborative law, could be
the answer for many couples eager to reach an amicable solution
away from the courts.
Collaborative law is a relatively new, but increasingly popular
method of resolving divorce and separation issues. Instead of
clients communicating by lengthy telephone calls and numerous
letters, individuals involved in the conflict can sit down,
face-to-face accompanied by their Collaborative Lawyer
representative, and resolve their family disputes amicably. It
gives couples far greater control of the process and outcome, and
makes the matter far less traumatic for all parties.
Shropshire law firm Lanyon Bowdler is already a provider of
collaborative law services, and has just expanded its team of
Collaborative Lawyers to three with the addition of experienced
Family Law solicitor Lisa Grimmett, who qualified as a
Collaborative Lawyer in July 2010, and has been an advanced member
of the Law Society's Family Law Panel since 2004. Lisa joins the
existing team of Peter Flint, senior partner and Head of the Family
Law Department, who is based in Shrewsbury, and Colin Spanner,
partner and Family Law specialist who is based at the Ludlow
office. All are Resolution trained Collaborative Lawyers able to
provide a supportive and practical approach to family conflict. In
addition, Peter Flint, who is a trained Mediator, is also a member
of SALM (Shires Associated Lawyer Mediators) and was recently
recognised as 'Leader in their Field' in the Chambers UK Directory
2011 for his family law work.
Peter comments "More and more people are starting to recognise
the benefits of the collaborative law process, and at Lanyon
Bowdler we take a very practical approach to dealing with personal
conflict. As trained Collaborative Lawyers we are fully
equipped to assist people wanting to try this alternative route to
resolution".
