Suzie Norton, newly crowned 'Vitalise Businesswoman of the Year'
and Screen WM Chief Executive Officer, will be guest speaker at a
Birmingham Chamber and Commerce (BCC) event in December.
She will be appearing at the 'Women who….' event on
Thursday, December 2 at City Inn, Brunswick Place.
Suzie began her career as a researcher for GMTV's Sunday
Programme, working at Westminster. At the age of 23 went on to
become the youngest member of the Parliamentary Press Lobby in its
200-year history.
Moving to the BBC and back to Birmingham, she became the
inaugural director of Film Birmingham, where she played a key role
in increasing regional film output.
Today, she heads Screen WM, the organisation which promotes the
regional screen media industries, including TV, film and games.
She was also instrumental in bringing the production of the BBC
television series 'Hustle' to the city. 'Hustle' stars 'Man from
UNCLE' actor Robert Vaughn, and is about the adventures of a group
of con artists.
Last month, Suzie's contribution to the screen media industry in
the region was recognised when she was crowned 'Vitalise
Businesswoman of the Year'- Vitalise is a charity for the disabled
which benefits from the event, which is now in its 28th year. The
award recognises the contribution women make to the economy,
celebrates ability and achievement and aims to create role models
for the future.
