The Redditch man who caused a stir throughout Britain with his
'Roundabouts of Redditch' calendars is back with a whole new range
of 'off the wall' images.
Press, radio and TV from round the world interviewed Kevin
Beresford, 58, when he launched his controversial calendar in 2003
and his latest offerings look set to cause another storm.
Kevin has produced Roadkill and a HM Prisons calendar along with
The Tolkin Trail, canals, an iconic Birmingham bus route and two
new roundabout calendars.
"Originally I owned a small printers and I wanted to come up
with a totally unique calendar," said Mr Beresford recalling his
first Redditch project.
It looked like Kevin had no future in calendars but a back to
work specialist in Albert Street, Redditch, helped him back on his
feet and Kevin is now working round the clock as orders fly in.
"I was able to get funding from the European Social Fund through
Pertemps People Development Group (PPDG)," he said.
"Without the funding it would have died a death. They sorted all
my materials out, which I couldn't afford."
Mr Beresford's Employment Coach at PPDG, Brenda Davis-Bates
explained how they helped him back into business.
"Kevin came to see us with some prototypes of his 2011 calendars
and discussed his business start-up requirements," said Brenda.
"He obtained a massive order from two distributors, but required
help with materials to fulfil the order.
"Kevin was really pleased we could assist him through the
European Social Fund as he thought he would lose the order and a
fantastic opportunity."
