Law firm Browne Jacobson has improved its ranking in a number of
key areas following the publication of Chambers UK 2011, the
independent legal directory that ranks law firms and lawyers in 70
specialist areas.
In the latest edition the firm was ranked first or second in 13
practice areas and significantly raised its ranking in two key
areas - Corporate and Healthcare, as well as achieving a new
ranking for its Local Government practice.
For the first time the directory also rated practice areas for
their commercial awareness and client service. Four of the firms
practice areas received plaudits for their commercial awareness
(Public Sector Law & Governance, Banking & Finance,
Education and Planning) whilst a further seven practice areas were
singled out for delivering the highest levels of client service
including Public Sector Law & Governance, Corporate (East and
West Midlands), Environment, Healthcare, Intellectual property and
Professional Negligence.
The latest edition of the directory also rated 42 lawyers at
Browne Jacobson as leaders in their field. Of these 27 are based in
the firm's Nottingham office and 15 in Birmingham. Last year 37 of
the firm's lawyers were rated by the guide.
Partners Barry Sully, Dominic Offord, Nick Parsons, Peter Ellis,
Richard Barlow and Simon Tait appear in two categories each whilst
a further six lawyers received a rating for the very first time
including, amongst others, Iain Patterson (Employment), Paula
Dumbill (Intellectual Property), Peter Jones (Employment), Sarah
Erwin-Jones (Personal Injury), David Potts (Litigation) and Shaun
McCabe (Banking & Finance).
Iain Blatherwick, Managing Partner at Browne Jacobson,
commented:
"These rankings are a mark of the professionalism and dedication
we have shown in providing the very best legal advice and service
to clients over the past year. It is also a glowing tribute to all
those individuals and practice areas listed for their achievements
and a ringing endorsement from our clients that we have improved or
retained our position in a number of key practice areas."
