West Midlands companies specialising in sustainable energy
technologies are being invited to join one of the industry's top
global events.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is organising a visit to the
World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi from 17-20 January
2011 for firms to demonstrate their expertise in this field.
WFES is a leading international trade show dedicated to
renewable energy and environmental technologies.
The 2010 event brought together nearly 25,000 delegates -
including world leaders, international policy makers, industry
leaders, investors and academics - from 148 countries.
UKTI in the West Midlands is taking space on the UK pavilion at
the show and is offering the following package of support:
* Use of the West Midlands stand area to display promotional
literature;
* Use of the stand's facilities, including a meeting room for
appointments;
* A travel subsidy of up to £450 for eligible
companies;
* An evening networking reception organised by UKTI; and
* Advice and support from UKTI staff on hand for the duration of
the show.
James Ahearne, UKTI's West Midlands international cluster
co-ordinator for environmental technologies, said: "WFES is a key
global business platform for sustainable technologies.
"It promotes global innovation and investment, bringing together
project owners and solution providers with buyers and investors
from both the public and private sectors.
"The visit is a great opportunity for West Midlands energy and
environment companies, particularly in areas such as solar, wind,
biomass, energy efficiency, power storage, and advanced
transportation.
"I would urge any firms that are interested in taking part to
contact us as soon as possible to book their place."
