Accountants gets ready for her Everest Base Camp trek
A Shropshire accountant will be putting herself through a
daunting challenge to raise cash for charity.
Nicola Storar is a member of the Corporate Department at Dyke
Yaxley Chartered Accountants, in Shrewsbury, and she will be
trekking to Everest Base Camp early next year.
"I chose to do this to raise money for The Alzheimer's Society
as the charity is close to my heart because my Nan died aged 65
after suffering with dementia for years.
"The trek will be a major challenge as I will be trekking for 13
consecutive days and covering a distance of over 120km, all at high
altitude.
"But I'm determined to complete it and raise as much money as I
possibly can for my charity."
Nicola said dementia affected one in 14 people over the age of
65, and one in six over the age of 80, and there was currently no
cure.
"The money raised by The Alzheimer's Society is used to help
improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their
families, and I'm looking forward to pushing myself to the limit to
help them continue to deliver such vital support."
