Children at Lincoln Mount Street School have been learning about
the importance of health and safety on building sites from Miller
Homes East Midlands.
Fifteen year one and two pupils from the school attended a
special health and safety talk from Miller Homes East Midlands
production director Malcolm Ceney at their local Miller Homes
development, Deansleigh.
Malcolm commented: "Building sites may look like exciting
places, but they definitely aren't a suitable place to play. We try
and do as much work in the communities surrounding our developments
as possible and invite as many local schools as we can for
supervised building site tours."
With an outstanding safety record and some of the safest
construction sites in the UK, the award-winning housebuilder is
well placed to educate youngsters about potential hazards, helping
families across the region enjoy a risk-free school holidays.
"Our building sites are all well-secured to deter trespassers
and keep members of the public safe. However, we believe it is
important to hold health and safety sessions with local schools as
they're a great way for children to learn about the safe
construction of new homes and how a building site is managed,"
added Malcolm.
Located in a leafy residential neighbourhood on the northern
edge of Lincoln, Deansleigh is in a prime location close to a
number of leisure facilities and popular schools. The development
boasts picturesque views of Lincoln Cathedral and benefits from
being surrounded by green space. With just a 15-minute walk to the
city centre and in close proximity to the A46 and major rail
routes, Deansleigh is the ideal choice for anyone looking to
commute to the rest of the East Midlands.
