Scalford Hall, the award-winning Management Training Centre set
in Leicestershire, is pleased to announce that it has officially
opened one of the UK's leading Experiential Learning facilities.
Declaring the course "Open" was the CEO of The Institute for
Outdoor Learning, Andy Robinson and Michael Stott, Director of
Sales and Marketing for Scalford Hall.
Director of Sales and Marketing for Scalford Hall, Michael
Stott, says, "Based on customer demand and market research we have
launched this exciting new product - Xperiential Learning - for our
existing and new customers. Already we have had huge interest and
have bookings that were sold off plan to completely new clients,
all bringing valuable new business to the region. "
The new product known as "Xperiential Learning" is designed as a
range of activities that can be used individually or as a course,
with over 30 pieces of equipment and activities to choose from and
all located in the beautiful landscaped gardens of Scalford Hall.
Within the woodlands the highest activity is 16 metres from the
ground. This new product is a fantastic complement to enhance
classroom training and meetings supporting the objectives of
clients, trainers and delegates, and is a flexible and great value
for money addition.
Experiential learning is the process of making meaning from
direct experience. Aristotle once said, "For the things we have to
learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them"
Experiential learning requires qualities such as self-initiative
and self-evaluation. For such learning to be truly effective, it
should employ the whole learning wheel, from goal setting, to
experimenting and observing, to reviewing, and finally action
planning. This complete process allows one to learn new skills, new
attitudes or even entirely new ways of thinking.
Key learning outcomes will be….
• Value of teamwork to resolve and complete tasks
• Improve communication and trust to develop an
efficient team
• Recognise the importance of co-operation and the need for
support within a team
• Identify different strengths within the team and utilise
resources to maximise the efficiency of the overall team
performance
• Team & business leadership skills
Experiential learning actively involves the learner in a real
experience - one they will remember and of course practice in the
future - making the training more impactful back in the
workplace.
