Redditch based travel agent Joanne Kemp was chosen by her
company, Travel Counsellors, to be one of the stars of its annual
company conference at the weekend.
Joanne was picked from over 1,100 agents to appear in a video
shown at the three day event to over 900 delegates at the Liverpool
BT Convention Centre.
Having previously worked at both Lunn Poly and Thomas Cook,
Joanne has been running her own travel business from home for over
four years. Comments Joanne, "Deciding to work from home was one of
the best decisions I have ever made and has allowed me to spend
much more time looking after my customers. It means I can be
available at evenings and weekends, which is usually the most
convenient time for people to arrange their holidays."
The filming took place at Travel Counsellor Joanne's home in
Redditch, and was met by a resounding applause from the 900 strong
conference audience at the weekend.
Joanne comments; "I was really proud to be asked to star in the
video. I am so passionate about travel and love being a Travel
Counsellor, running my own business and providing a unique and
personal travel service to my customers. Since joining the company
I have watched my business go from strength to strength and am so
pleased I made the life changing move. I am happy to help show
others how they can do this and change their lives for the
better."
During her two-night stay in Liverpool, Joanne enjoyed an array
of entertainment, along with Travel Counsellors from across the UK,
Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia and Canada. On
the Friday evening Joanne attended an elaborate welcome bash, as
she was entertained by award winning comedian Michael McIntyre.
A glittering final awards ceremony celebrated another successful
year for the company on Saturday. Travel Counsellors were also
rewarded with a host of amazing holiday giveaways and prizes
including trips to Jamaica, Egypt, Dubai and Hong Kong.
Joanne commented, "I had an amazing time at the conference in
Liverpool. We were updated on the company's future plans and given
an array of travel tips and advice. It was a truly inspirational
experience, the entertainment and conference sessions were
fantastic, and I look forward to sharing the experience and the
knowledge I have gained with my customers. Also, as I work from
home during the year it was really great to catch up with all my
colleagues across the world."
Joanne uses the company's state of the art technology to provide
expert independent travel advice; from specialist areas such as
tailor-made holidays, cruises and business travel to a simple
flight or hotel booking. Unlike most high street agencies which are
owned by a big name tour operator, award winning company Travel
Counsellors is completely independent, meaning that Joanne is free
to recommend the holiday that suits her client's needs.
