Leamington and Warwickshire law firm Alsters Kelley, have raised
£870 after donating their time to draft wills for free, after
participating in 'Make a Will Week' for a local charity Myton
Hospice which ran last month.
Lisa Beale, a paralegal at the Leamington office, said: "Myton
Hospice is a charity so important for the people of Warwickshire,
doing a wonderful job caring for those who live in this region.
Participating in Make a Will Week is a great way of supporting them
and we passed on some very generous donations.
Neil Raiseborough, Head of Private Client, commented: "Alsters
Kelley is often involved in free will schemes and we have found it
to be an effective way of giving back to the local community.
"Most clients who donated for Make a Will Week were surprised to
learn that there is rarely such thing as a simple will. We urge
everyone to have their wills professionally drawn up to make sure
that the will is thorough and all the finer details have been
considered."
David Pratt, Donor and Supporter Care Manager at Myton Hospice,
said: "We are very grateful to Alsters Kelley for giving their time
to support of our first Make a Will Week. The £870 raised by
them will help us continue to provide vital care for more than 2000
local people each year who are living with a life limiting
illness.
"We run three hospices in Coventry and Warwickshire and need to
raise over £6 million each year in voluntary donations. The
support of the local business community is essential for us to
continue our work."
