Retailers and businesses in Shropshire can now have their own
loyalty/incentive card. Crunchcard is targeted at the thousands of
small businesses and retailers who do not have a loyalty scheme in
place.
Any business prepared to offer a discount of any size on any
product or service can join. Benefits for businesses are that the
scheme brings in new custom, it is totally free to participate and
it provides free advertising both on the website and in flyers and
local publications.
Crunchcard was conceived by Shrewsbury based Steve Hawksworth
and Ivan Tate, Steve said "Although it was not usual for customers
to ask, it was apparent that to make a sale most businesses were
prepared to give a bit of discount, most of the big stores have
their own loyalty cards but there is nothing for the thousands of
smaller shops throughout the country".
Businesses benefit from repeat and new custom from cardholders,
customers benefit as they appreciate the fact that they have got a
discount and they tell other people. Ivan added "Some customers can
be reluctant to ask for a discount or present a voucher and as such
presenting a Crunchcard when you make a purchase is preferable".
Dave Pountney said "I like the concept of Crunchcard, its
refreshing not to have to pay to participate in a scheme which will
hopefully bring in more customers".
Marketing Shropshire designed and built the website which allows
anyone in Shropshire or any other part of the country to do a
search for national and local discounts based on their postcode.
Local retailers who sign up to the scheme can advertise on the site
free of charge giving anyone countrywide access to their discounts
or offers, offers can be on their complete range of goods/services
or on a specific range. Crunchcard have already signed up some
great local businesses who are offering some fantastic discounts to
cardholders.
An official launch is being planned in Shrewsbury which will
feature a national celebrity.
The Crunchcard advert which appears on the new Shropshire
Shopping site should bring in a substantial number of new customers
to Crunchcard and should help any participating businesses.
