An Ilkeston based property guru has been invited to speak at
this year's Landlord and Buy to Let Show on the importance of
dealing with local housing allowance (LHA) tenants, alongside the
likes of Kevin Green, The Secret Millionaire.
Set to take place between the 17th and 18th of November at the
NEC in Birmingham, the Landlord and Buy To Let Show is now the UK's
largest and longest established private rented sector show,
attracting the industry's serious landlords and letting
professionals.
Richard Jones, of Ilkestonproperty.com was approached by the
show organisers after they struggled to find an expert in Local
Housing Allowance tenants, and found that Richard had long been an
advocate of such practices.
Richard Jones, who has accumulated a multi-million pound
buy-to-let portfolio, said: "I am absolutely delighted that I have
been asked to speak at this year's show as it is THE show of the
year for the rented sector."
Jo Williams, Jo Williams, Communications and Events Manager of
Accession Exhibitions & Publishing Ltd, said: "Our shows help
to keep landlords up-to-date with the latest industry developments,
and the recent announcement of controversial cuts to housing
benefit, which has seen condemnation from property experts and
homeless charities, has without doubt put the subject at the top of
the national agenda. So we are delighted to have Richard on board
to offer his expertise on this hot topic and advise on building a
buy-to-let business through housing allowance."
Speaking at midday on both days of the event, Richard Jones'
seminar entitled 'How to build a business with LHA' will analyse
topics such as the basis of LHA and how it works, why landlords may
need LHA tenants, how to deal with Housing Benefit departments, he
will also be offering his own tips on saving both time and
money.
Richard who owns the very first letting agents in Derbyshire to
specialise in LHA tenants, added: "In this current climate many
landlords are fully aware that they need to deal with housing
benefit clients but are unsure of how to deal with them.
There is certainly a stigma attached to this area of the rentals
market, but this need not be the case, here at Ilkestonproperty.com
we have worked closely with the local councils to put in place a
system to reference Local Housing Authority (LHA) tenants, to
increase landlord confidence. It is this inside knowledge and
experience that I will be sharing with others at this year's
Landlord and Buy To Let Show."
