With Christmas shopping underway in Leicester, Highcross has
launched its own festive appeal where shoppers can donate a gift to
Barnardos, The NSPCC or Rainbows Hospice for Children & Young
People.
Highcross has positioned a large collection box by the Customer
Information Desk, on the Upper Mall, where shoppers can simply
attach a gift label to the charity of their choice before the items
are collected and donated prior to the big day.
Sam French, marketing events co-ordinator at Highcross, said:
"Christmas is an important time for all of the family. However, we
must remember that not everyone is fortunate enough to celebrate in
the ways that we take for granted, so we hope the generosity of
Leicestershire's residents will help make the day more enjoyable
for those individuals.
"Gifts of all shapes and sizes can be donated, but we do ask
that presents are unused, unwrapped and in the original
packaging."
Emma Lovegrove, community fundraiser at Rainbows Hospice for
Children and Young People, said: "Highcross has supported Rainbows
for several years and we're grateful for their continued support
and opportunities through initiatives such as the collection
box.
"We look forward to collecting the donations from the
Leicestershire public prior to Christmas and helping put a smile on
the faces of Rainbows' children and young people."
