Viral game specialists Koko Digital are celebrating after
landing four prizes at one of the design industry's leading awards
ceremonies.
Directors Karl Bloor, Chris Steele and Stuart Howarth won in
every category in which they were nominated at the Roses Design
Awards in Manchester in October.
World of Confusion, their creation for Confused.com, picked up
the gold medal in the Gaming: Online Game section and silver in the
Gaming: Online Promotion category.
And Parody Island, which was developed for Sony Music and
featured Radio 1's Chris Moyles, grabbed the silver for Gaming:
Online Game and bronze for Gaming: Online Promotion.
Koko Digital Director Chris Steele said: "We thought we might
pick up one award on the night but to get four was amazing!
"We had stiff competition from campaigns developed for Adidas
and Sega, so to pick up four was a fantastic achievement!
"The judges told us we'd won because of the visual appeal of
both games, and their effectiveness in raising awareness of the
brands."
Koko has now won 17 industry awards, including the 2009 BIMA
(British Interactive Media Association) Award for Viral Spread, for
their smash hit Romeo, which has now been played more than
37million times.
Koko Digital was established by directors Chris Steele, Karl
Bloor and Stuart Howarth in 2006 to create viral advergames and
social media applications. They have worked with a number of
blue-chip clients including Red Bull, Cancer Research UK and
Epson.
