graduates Adam Nicholas, David Holland and Francesca Smith
Three graduates will be making history this week at the annual
graduation awards at Coventry University.
The ceremony on Wednesday 24th November is a special one because
it features Europe's first set of E-Music Graduates.
Coventry's E-Music course is unique in Europe in that it teaches
students about digital promotion and distribution, alongside the
study of music production.
Since the course started in 2006, digital downloading of music
has continued to gain in popularity and this is one of the few
courses to address the trend.
Adam Nicholas, David Holland and Francesca Smith are all
applying what they learnt on the course after their studies.
Francesca Smith is now using digital technologies to promote and
manage live music events, applying many of the theories she
explored in her final year project.
Adam Nicholas is using digital technologies to promote and
distribute recordings which he has produced with the band
'Arabella' and David Holland is continuing his studies with an MA
in Music, Technology and Innovation, for which he is one of only a
few students to receive a prestigious AHRC (Arts and Humanities
Research Council) Scholarship.
Mark Thorley, Principal Lecturer in E-Music said:
"It's great to see these students coming out with such good
degree classifications. They showed great faith in joining a brand
new course, so we trust that the skills and knowledge they have
gained will serve them well for their future careers."
