Delegates from businesses across the East Midlands and Yorkshire
including sweet giant Haribo attended a meeting at the Lincolnshire
Events Centre to find out how they can improve their
productivity.
Office efficiency expert TBSL (Todds Business Systems Ltd) held
its annual DocuWare User Group Meeting at the EPIC Centre to
explain how document management software can help businesses
increase their profits and decrease their costs.
Guest speakers included Jan Picht from DocuWare UK, Robert
Gristock from Kodak and Jenny Felton from Formscan.
Steve Bilton from TBSL, based in Lincoln, said he was delighted
to see so many customers there, many of whom had travelled over 200
miles.
"The annual user group meetings are aimed at teaching our
customers how they can become better DocuWare users in order to
improve the return on their investment and how we can become better
at helping them to achieve that goal," he said.
"We were really pleased with the turnout and the feedback from
delegates was really positive."
TBSL is one of only 30 approved DocuWare partners in Europe and
has helped a wide range of businesses and organisations including
manufacturers, construction firms, medical practices and country
estates become more efficient and save thousands of pounds in
man-hours.
Steve Bilton from TBSL explained: "An average office worker
spends 20% of his or her working life filing or looking for
documents, which could amount to over 50 days of unproductive time
per staff member per year!
"DocuWare eliminates the need for paper-based files; any type of
document can be scanned in and stored in a central document pool -
for example paper records, letters, faxes, drawings, PC and other
electronic files including e-mail - and retrieved with a few clicks
of a mouse."
The General Manager at Brook & Mayo in Lincoln was one of
around 30 delegates who attended the meeting and said since
installing DocuWare he's been able to get rid of all his paper
files.
"Our shelves were sagging under the weight of thousands of
important documents which we'd filed and never dared to throw away
in case we needed them," said Paul. "They were becoming a bit of a
health and safety hazard!
"Although we only started using it six months ago DocuWare has
solved 90% of our document archive and retrieval problems and freed
up a lot of time as we no longer have to spend hours looking for
information."
Janine Sansom from Voice, the union for educational
professionals, added: "Voice has thousands of members across the UK
and thanks to DocuWare we can now search our records in
seconds.
"Using the Internet, we can also access the information from
anywhere at any time and all our documents are safe from
unauthorised access as well as from fire, theft or flood."
