A company in Coventry which specialises in creating modular
buildings has secured £4.2 million worth of orders over the
last six months.
Central Site Accommodation in Willenhall Lane, Binley, employs
up to 45 permanent staff plus numerous sub-contractors at its
factory where it manufactures education, leisure and commercial
projects in off-site construction before transporting them to their
clients' sites complete with ftted furnishings, sanitaryware,
heating, lighting and fitted furnishings.
The company's busiest period was over the six-week school summer
holiday when they completed orders which included schools and
children's centres in Birmingham and Leicestershire.
The company has been supported by Yorkshire Bank's business
support initiative Investing for Growth.
The new initative offers a dedicated planning service and
investment finance including loan repayment holidays, interest-only
repayments and extended loan and credit facilities.
Mike Walsh from Central Site Accommodation said they have been
awarded 14 contracts across the Midlands.
"We had to complete £3 million worth of work in the main
school holiday which is fantastic news, but it takes a great deal
of organisation," he said.
"Our workers include joiners, electricians and plumbers since we
carry out all of the modular construction work here at our factory
and then transport the buildings to the sites to fix them in
place.
"This not only cuts down on the amount of construction time but
it is also more economic and in these cash conscious times it is a
great way of achieving the same product at a lower cost in a
shorter time period.
"The projects that we have underway include Sure Start
Children's Centres in Birmingham and Leicestershire as well as
school extensions, and later in the year we have sports pavillions
in Birmingham and Leicestershire.
"We provide a bespoke service since we design, build and
construct the modular buildings and there are very few companies in
the UK which provide the same level of service.
"It can be a bit like Challenge Anneka but we are very well
organised and this kind of construction is definitely the way
forward."
Martin Boag, business partner at Yorkshire Bank's Financial
Solutions Centre at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, said the number of
orders on the company's books was extremely impressive.
"Central Site Accommodation spotted a niche in the market and is
winning a number of tender opportunities across the region," he
said.
"The Investing for Growth initiative enables Yorkshire Bank to
provide flexible support as confidence returns among businesses to
give them the opportunity to buy or expand their premises, hire new
staff, launch a new product or win a new contract.
"Central Site Accommodation has been successful in winning an
impressive number of new contracts and they are certainly going to
have a busy time."
