A new tapas restaurant and bar is to be opened in West Bridgford
by the Perkins family.
Escabeche will be launched at 25-27 Bridgford Road on Monday,
October 4, to add to the successful Perkins Restaurant and The
Carriage Hall in Plumtree.
Twenty jobs will be created at the first tapas restaurant and
bar in West Bridgford which has received funding assistance from
Yorkshire Bank through its 'Investing for Growth' initaitive which
has been launched to help businesses grow and develop.
The new business will be headed up by Jonathan Perkins, his
brother, David, and chef/director Sarah Newham.
Jonathan said: "Escabeche has been a popular dish ever since my
parents Wendy and Tony Perkins opened Perkins Restaurant 28 years
ago.
"We love the ethos behind tapas and the rich variety of the
flavours and fresh produce in the Mediterranean food culture.
"This is a great opportunity for us to bring this to West
Bridgford and we are very excited about it.
"The place will be unique using plenty of earthy colours, stones
and wood and we have spent four months converting the premises to
get everything just right."

The new venture was celebrated at a Spanish evening at Yorkshire
Bank's Financial Solutions Centre in Castle Meadow Road in
Nottingham when canapes were served along with Spanish cheeses from
The Cheese Shop in Nottingham and Spanish-themed drinks.
Jo Belton, partner in private banking at Yorkshire Bank in the
city, said the evening had been an ideal opportunity for guests to
find out more about the latest addition to Nottingham's dining
scene.
"Around 60 of our existing and potential customers along with
other members of Nottingham's business community heard about the
new venture as well as having the treat of being able to sample
some of the tapas that will be served when it opens," she said.
"This proved to be a really popular event and I am sure that
Escabeche will be a hit during the day and evening since it will
attract a wide range of clientele from mums meeting up during the
day to families and friends having a night out."
