West Bromwich Albion kept their successful run going with the
help of a Leamington solicitor.
The Tom Silk site in West Bromwich, home of the club's
charitable trust, The Albion Foundation, is now licensed to stage a
wide range of events thanks to Andrew Potts of Wright Hassall
solicitors.
The site consists of more than 500 car parking spaces, a full
sized indoor artificial football pitch, indoor sports centre and an
office building.
Andrew has a long history of licensing large venues across the
Midlands including The Windmill Village Hotel Golf Course and
Leisure Club, Coventry Rugby Club's Butts Park Arena and pitch and
most recently he attained a new license for Birmingham City
Football Club.
"This new Premises License allows complete flexibility for the
use of the space at the Tom Silk Site," said Mr Potts.
"Originally the club merely to planned license the indoor sports
centre as a bar on matchdays but once I suggested they apply for a
new premises licence for the whole site that was done at the same
time.
"No structural changes or additional financial investment was
required to meet the criteria for this licence and Sandwell
Metropolitan Borough Council accepted the application.
"All the regulatory authorities were most helpful.
"Now, as well as providing car parking spaces for 500 people,
there is capacity to host all manner of licensable events from
weddings to boxing which would all financially benefit the
Trust."
