Over 70 per cent of women motorists in West Midlands worry about
taking their car for servicing with three quarters unsure how much
it will cost.
According to the survey commissioned on behalf of Redditch
Volkswagen about half (51 per cent) persuade their dad or partner
to take the car for servicing.
Mark Price, service manager at Redditch Volkswagen, said: "The
survey shows obvious concerns women have about car servicing.
"As a business we are addressing this by introducing
Volkswagen's Fixed Price Servicing programme, something three
quarters of the women surveyed said would assist them in making
informed choices and restoring their confidence with car
servicing.
"The new menu of prices makes car servicing easier to
understand, showing our customers the cost up front and preventing
any pre-servicing dread."
Mark added: "Cars need regular servicing to ensure they're safe
to drive but the survey makes surprising reading as 13 per cent
wait until a problem occurs, which inevitably costs the motorist
more money."
"The good news is that the fixed price servicing programme means
everyone gets the best price, every time." concluded Mark.
The Volkswagen Fixed Price Servicing programme sees the prices
fixed on the most popular servicing and maintenance jobs and is
available on all Volkswagens from three and ten years old, up to
and including 2.0 litre engines. All costs include parts, oil,
labour and VAT, removing any hidden surprises. This offer applies
to vehicles following a time and distance servicing regime
only.
A minor service is £119 and a major service is £229
with a MOT test at £30.
