The World's first total protection integral guarded metatarsal
footwear range to meet European S3 safety standards now boasts an
innovative metal free addition. Suitable for all hazardous
environments, the TC4000A Flint boot offers distinct benefits to
the rail, airport and secure warehousing industries.
Rock Fall UK Ltd's Tomcat Roc-Met range, launched earlier this
year, was enthusiastically received by the health and safety
industry, achieving finalist status in the British Safety Industry
Federation's Product Innovation Awards at this year's Safety and
Health Expo. Developed over a two year period, the result is a
lightweight, flexible and fashionable range of boots, featuring a
patented integral metatarsal guard to provide complete protection
to the wearer's foot.
Rock Fall's non metallic descendent carries all of the benefits
of the existing range, but with the added advantages of a
completely metal-free construction, comprising a metatarsal guard
and anti-penetration moulded EVA midsole. The completely waterproof
boot also benefits from increased thermal properties, allowing the
foot to stay warmer in cooler climates. They are fashioned in high
quality full-grain leather and feature abrasion-resistant scuff cap
and heel guard, padded ankle support and an outer sole able to
withstand temperatures of up to 300 degrees Centigrade.
Rock Fall UK Ltd's Managing Director, Stephen Noon commented:
"We developed the initial Roc-Met range as we felt that the
industry should be offering the wearer full foot protection, rather
than the partial protection provided by traditional safety
footwear. The rapid success of our range quickly revealed a demand
for a metal free version from numerous industries". Describing the
development process of the boot, Mr. Noon added: "Expanding on the
existing Tomcat Roc-Met range, we developed a composite version
from the initial designs, resulting in a total protection boot that
is comfortable, light weight and flexible, providing not only a
very safe boot, but a very good looking one too".
Rock Fall is no stranger to innovation though; As well as
supplying a full range of fashionable, protective work wear, the
company also produces a range of Gore-Tex lined safety footwear:
Diamond and Orta being the best sellers in their premier range. To
complement these styles, Rock Fall also has a number of new designs
under development which are being tailored to meet specific
industry sector requirements. As they launch their non-metallic
TC4000A Flint Roc-Met boot this month, Rock Fall has one simple
message for all health and safety officers, and that is: Adopting
Roc-Met is a small price to pay for total foot protection.
