Talbots Legal Advice Centre are delighted to confirm that Amanda
Tomkins and Jodie Smith have successfully qualified as Higher Court
Advocates. Both are Criminal Defence Solicitors, accredited
to offer advice and representation at both the police station and
the Magistrates Court.
The Higher Rights of Audience Qualification extends their
qualification to represent those in the Crown Court, meaning they
can represent clients in the most serious matters from the start to
finish of their cases.
Both lawyers completed the training which involved examination
on the technicalities of criminal law and assessment of their
Higher Court Advocacy. This is the highest qualification for
those who practice criminal law and the availability of in-house
advocates will add to the services the Criminal Defence Department
at Talbots Legal Advice Centre can now offer to their clients.
Martyn Morgan, Senior Partner of Talbots adds "This will provide
added benefit to our clients who sometimes suffer the frustration
of not knowing which Barrister will be representing them at the
final and most important hearing, having often not met the
Barrister beforehand. This added qualification will give
clients continuity of representation from start to finish,
providing them with the very best chance of success".
