A Shropshire company is celebrating National Energy Saving Week
this week by offering homeowners across the county a free solar
power audit.
Shrewsbury-based solar power experts Mipower are volunteering to
visit homes, businesses and schools to assess both the suitability
and potential cost savings of installing a Photovoltaic (PV)
electricity-generating system.
"Generating your own energy is something that up until just a
year or two ago seemed out of reach of the average household or
business, but thanks to rapid increases in technology we're proud
to be able to offer cost-effective Photovoltaic panels which can
not only help cut energy consumption, but also earn people extra
money at the same time," said Robert Rust, Technical Director, of
Mipower.
"A typical solar PV system can quite easily cut household
electricity bills by half, or more depending on the unit installed,
while the Feed-in-Tariff introduced by the Government back in April
means that you can get paid up to £1,500 every year for
producing your own electricity, so going green is not only good for
the environment, it's good for your pocket too," Robert
explained.
Energy Saving Week (25-31 October) is a UK-wide campaign
organised by the Energy Saving Trust aimed at getting households
across the country to think more about the energy they use on a
day-to-day basis, as well as promoting a number of easy-to-follow
tips on reducing energy consumption.
Mipower Ltd is an independent and forward-thinking
Shropshire-based company specialising in the design and
installation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels. Through the offer
of bespoke energy solutions to meet individual client needs, the
company helps private homeowners, businesses and communities to
generate their own electricity and, ultimately, save money.
Mipower's professional and friendly team is highly experienced, and
its installers are all Government-approved under the
Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for renewable energies.
Providing expert advice and guidance, the team ensures that its
customers not only save money by reducing their energy bills, but
also cut their carbon footprint, and earn money at the same time
through the Feed-in-Tariff scheme.
