Main contractor Shepherd Construction has completed building
work on one of the biggest mixed-use developments in Derby this
year.
The 46,451 m² Derby Riverlights development, which is
helping to transform the city centre adjacent to the River Derwent
and Riverside Gardens, is now set to open to the public in
November.
The development comprises retail space on the ground floor, a
first floor casino and three further floors accommodating two
hotels - a 116-bedroom Hilton and 105-bedroom Holiday Inn.
Phase one of the project, a new 24-bay Central Bus Station
completed and opened to the public earlier this year.
Richard Fielding, construction director for Shepherd
Construction commented: "We are delighted to have finished work on
the development which is set to create jobs and boost the city
centre's attractions. We look forward to seeing the opening of
Riverlights and the public enjoying the facilities."
