Cooper Crouse-Hinds, a division of Cooper Industries and the
world's largest manufacturer of electrical products, has relocated
its midlands office to St. Modwen's Whitley Business Park in
Coventry.
The deal sees Cooper Crouse-Hinds sign a 10 year lease on a
2,879 sq ft BREEAM 'Very Good' office building on Lakeside, the
first phase of offices on Coventry's newest business park. Whitley
Business Park extends to 93 acres of development and is
strategically located off the A45 Coventry Road, adjacent to Jaguar
Land Rover's research and development facility.
Mark Watkins, development surveyor for St. Modwen, commented:
"Whitley Business Park is clearly making an impact on occupiers
such as Cooper-Crouse Hinds because of the flexibility of the
office space and the aesthetics of this new business park
environment. Its location, which provides swift access to the
city's major arterial routes, while also being situated at the
heart of Coventry's wider transport network, makes it an ideal
commercial base and we are confident that as the market picks up,
this development will continue to attract high profile
companies."
Jonathan Ottewell of Savills, joint agent for Whitley Business
Park, added: "It is clear that in securing occupiers such as
Cooper-Crouse Hinds, Whitley Business Park is presenting an offer
that appeals to occupiers. The development is excellently situated
and already becoming a recognised part of the Coventry business
community. St. Modwen's sensible approach to speculative and
bespoke development will see it grow steadily in line with market
demand, and we expect to see more high profile occupiers moving to
Whitley Business Park over the coming months."
Four buildings remain on the first phase of development at
Whitley Business Park and range in size from 3,116 sq ft to 25,960
sq ft. All offer flexible office accommodation which can be
tailored to occupiers' needs. The largest property, Building One,
has been designed to provide a company HQ but can also be
sub-divided into four separate suites. Design and build
opportunities are also available for bespoke office, industrial and
warehouse space.
The scheme benefits from significant frontage to the A45
Coventry Road, close to its junction with the A46, there is
excellent connectivity to the surrounding motorway network, in
particular the M6, the M40 and the M1. Mainline rail connections
are via Coventry city centre, Warwick Parkway and Birmingham
International train stations. Birmingham and Coventry Airports are
within a short drive, the latter being within two miles of the
scheme.
