Santander Corporate Banking has appointed Steve Young as
Relationship Director in the East Midlands. In his new role, Steve
will support a wide range of business types and will focus on
supporting corporate customers with in excess of £25 million
turnover.
Steve is based at Santander's Nottingham Corporate Business
Centre, which supports businesses with a turnover above £1
million and reports in to Nick Pulley, Regional Director.
Steve, who lives in Nottingham, joins Santander from Barclays,
where he ran the Corporate Banking Teams in South Yorkshire,
Lincolnshire and Humberside. With extensive experience, gained over
a 23 year banking career, Steve has particular expertise in
supporting businesses which operate in the manufacturing and retail
sectors.
Commenting on his new role, Steve said: "I am delighted to be
joining Santander Corporate Banking. The bank has built a strong
reputation amongst businesses and advisers and I am looking forward
to working with existing customers of the bank and also developing
new relationships with businesses across the East Midlands where I
have spent the vast majority of my corporate banking career
working.

and then providing sustainable sensible solutions. I'm very keen to
start working with new clients and to utilise the international
strength of Santander to help businesses in the East Midlands to
flourish."
Santander currently has a market share of around 3% in the UK
SME market but the business is growing quickly with a 20 per cent
increase in lending year on year in the first six months of 2010,
compared with the first half of 2009.
