Birmingham City Business School part of Birmingham City
University has officially opened its brand new Postgraduate and
Professional Teaching Suite.
The area on the 5th floor of Galton Building at the City North
Campus in Perry Barr will act as a hub for the many students who
are studying full or part-time for high-level Masters and
Postgraduate Professional courses such as MBA, Association of
Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of
Marketing (CIM), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development,
(CIPD) and the Chartered Institute of Publication Relations (CIPR)
Diploma.
Classrooms have been refurbished and a central area has been
developed to allow students from the various courses taught at
Birmingham City Business School to meet up and discuss projects and
course work.
The official opening on Thursday 7 October was marked by the
cutting of a ribbon by the University's Vice-Chancellor, David
Tidmarsh. He said: "The University is committed to putting its
students first and the new postgraduate suite is an example of
this."
The area was designed by Birmingham- based architects D5 and the
building work was carried out by GTH Construction, Solihull. Ian
Saunders of D5 said: "We designed the postgraduate to be a vibrant
centre of a busy part of the Business School. Our brief was to make
it a casual area that would act as a hub for the postgraduate
students. I and many of my colleagues at D5 are graduates of the
Business School and our company has a long history of working with
Birmingham City University."
