Northampton businesses learnt of the benefits of trading with
China during a nationwide teleconference hosted by the town's
Yorkshire Bank Financial Solutions Centre.
Peter Buckley, Professor of International Business and Director
of the Centre for International Business at the University of
Leeds, and Giles Blackburne, Director of the China-Britain Business
Council, were the key speakers on the national teleconference
hosted by Yorkshire Bank on the importance of trading with China
and establishing a presence in the region.
Companies from in and around the town joined Yorkshire Bank's
senior partner Pete Trueman to question Prof. Buckley and Mr
Blackburne on how they can build relationships in the Far East and
discuss the importance of creating international trading links with
the economic powerhouse.
Pete said the teleconference had been a great opportunity for
local businesses to quiz two of the UK's top experts on
China.
He said: "The Chinese economy is the second largest globally and
the country overtook Germany as the world's largest exporter last
year therefore the opportunities available to Northampton companies
are vast. However, setting up a presence in the region can be
difficult and the complex legislation can often put businesses off
from investigating further.
"Having two leading experts on China available offered our
customers the opportunity to receive a comprehensive overview of
how their companies can benefit from working in or trading with one
of the most important economies in the world."
Yorkshire Bank's FSC in Waterside Way has dedicated
international trade and treasury partners who can guide companies
through the difficult stages of setting up international links and
business connections, ensuring the town's businesses can fully
benefit from the wealth of opportunities international markets
offer.
This China teleconference was part of a nationwide series of
events being hosted by Yorkshire Bank to allow corporate and
business customers the chance to network and hear from the UK's
leading economists and professionals.
