Staffordshire-based hospitality group, The Lewis Partnership,
announced the latest addition to its business portfolio last week
with the unveiling of their fifth business in the region.
The family-run business, which owns the luxury Moat House Hotel
at Acton Trussell and Swan Hotel in Stafford, has successfully
taken over the Dog & Doublet restaurant and hotel in the
picturesque village of Sandon near Stafford.
The country inn is the latest in a series of business
developments for the family business, who also own and run The Bear
Grill restaurant and the Greengate Deli in Stafford.
Managing Partner, Chris Lewis, commented on the new venture:
"The Dog & Doublet is a historic building with character and
huge potential, we felt it was a perfect fit for our business model
and we are really excited about taking this latest challenge
on."
"Through our restaurants and the Deli we have developed a
fantastic local supplier network and the Dog & Doublet is going
to be yet another platform for us to shout about the great food and
drink this region produces."
Former BII 'Licensee of the Year', Chris, works extensively with
hospitality businesses around the UK providing tips and advice on
how to maintain the traditional values of great British hospitality
while embracing new technology and environmentally friendly
practices.
"We now pay as much attention keeping our customers informed
through Twitter or accepting online reservations as we do to
welcoming our guests or answering the phone. To continue to move
forward we have to embrace change and I believe this is one of the
reasons The Lewis Partnership has survived what has been a
difficult time for hospitality businesses." added Chris.
The Lewis Partnership now plans a comprehensive refurbishment of
the Sandon venue which will begin in the New Year, until then the
pub and restaurant remains open as usual with a new menu which was
launched at the weekend.
