National contractor Shepherd Construction has appointed Steve
Swain as business development manager within its West Division,
with responsibility for implementing the company's work winning
strategy across the Midlands.
Steve was previously director of Solihull-based Flexibuilds and
prior to that he held business development roles at Miller
Construction and Mowlem Building.
He brings with him more than 20 years' experience in the
construction industry and a successful track record in developing
business turnover as well as extensive knowledge of main contractor
bidding and framework management.
He will be based at Shepherd Construction's Birmingham office,
which opened a year ago and is supporting the company's strategy of
developing a stronger Midlands portfolio.
Currently Shepherd is delivering more than £200 million of
work across the Midlands including the £66 million Bournville
College at Longbridge on behalf of regeneration specialist St
Modwen; Bilston's new leisure centre in Wolverhampton; a new school
and children's home for the RNIB at Rushton near Coventry; and
Derby Riverlights, a mixed-use leisure and retail scheme.

best practice that delivers greater efficiencies."
