An employee of a local IT firm has reached the final stages of a
prestigious national award scheme which recognises the success of
those working across the UK IT industry.
Russ Wicks, Technical Manager at Shrewsbury-based AcuITy, has
been announced as a finalist in the IT Manager of the Year category
of the BCS & Computing IT Industry Awards, and faces
competition from leading firms including the National Grid, Network
Rail and National Australia Group.
32-year old Russ went through a rigorous selection process,
impressing the judges with both his written entry and face-to-face
interview, demonstrating his expertise in his field, team
leadership qualities, and his passionate and innovative approach to
his work.
Russ commented: "I'm absolutely delighted to have been nominated
for this award, particularly as I am up against fantastic talent
from some of the UK's biggest and most respected
organisations.
"I would like to thank all my colleagues at AcuITy for their
continued support and encouragement, and for helping me to achieve
the success I have so far."
The awards are designed to recognise those individuals that have
demonstrated excellence in their profession during the past 12
months, and the winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony
in London on the 11th November.
John Line, Managing Director at AcuITy said: "We offer our huge
congratulations to Russ for his achievement in this highly
prestigious award scheme, which is testament to his continual
commitment, enthusiasm and professionalism. It is a huge
accolade for a local firm to be recognised alongside some of the
most well-known organisations in the UK, and we all wish Russ the
very best of luck at the ceremony next month."
