Leicestershire farmer wins Farmers Weekly Award

Andrew Rees of Gaulby Lodge Farm, Kings Norton was crowned Young Farmer of the Year at last night's Farmers Weekly Awards.

At 31-years old, Andrew has transformed a tenanted 150ha dairy into an innovative and thriving dairy, sheep and arable unit. He's been ambitious and invested his own money to take this business forward, but in building profits he hasn't ignored his desire to take farming and its values to the local community and public

The top winner of the night was John Hoskin from Maiden Castle Farms in Dorset who was crowned 2010 Farmers Weekly Farmer of the Year, as well as Beef Farmer of the Year, at the biggest ever celebration of farming in the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane London on Thursday 7th October.
