Whilst many of the UK's commercial property markets have had a
difficult year, Nottingham is benefiting from its own
micro-climate, with King Sturge's Park Row offices continuing to
grow and expand.
Four new recruits have joined the team in the past couple of
months, further strengthening and developing King Sturge's
specialist areas including valuation, plant & machinery,
development/regeneration and building consultancy.
Anna Kirk, age 23 and Matt Revill, Age 20 are both from
Nottingham Trent University. Anna worked with King Sturge on
placement as part of her degree in Real Estate Management before
being accepted onto both the companies internship and graduate
programmes. Matt is currently on a 9 month placement as part
of his degree.
Claire Hill, age 26 and James Hanson, age 39, bring with them
experience in building surveying and plant & machinery.
Claire has worked extensively with clients managing
refurbishment and relocation projects, whilst James has a vast
knowledge in the preparation and management of onsite and online
auction sites.
The 20 strong team now looks set to build on its success in the
East Midlands, brokering many of the regions' landmark deals this
year including one of the UK's largest office lettings and the
region's biggest shed transaction. The agency team also recently
won East Midlands Agent of the year.
Mike Hanson, partner in charge of the Nottingham office says,
"Despite being a relative newcomer to the East Midlands, setting up
five years ago with just 4 people, the King Sturge team has
prospered and grown against a backdrop of recession".
"We've delivered exceptional results under tough conditions and
look set to increase our market share in 2010. To continue this
path, investing in people is crucial and we are fortunate to be
able to recruit at a time when many companies are considering
cuts.
"Whilst being part of a national practice, our strength is in
our depth of local knowledge combined with our ability to draw on
our specialist services to provide a more rounded
service."
Mike Added, "The East Midlands commercial property community has
seen some significant deals and been relatively active compared to
many other regions. This includes Nottingham City Council's
acquisition of Loxley House, the sale of the former Innovate Cold
Store in Derbyshire and the recent pre-let to E.ON".
"Clearly sizeable deals such as these aren't always going to be
around however we continue to benefit from our more creative
approach to seeking out opportunities and offering strategic
analysis of clients needs to improve running costs and reduce their
carbon footprint by managing their assets more effectively or
relocating to greener space."
