The marketing manager at a Lincolnshire accountancy firm has
been appointed to a new role with Lincolnshire Chamber of
Commerce.
Jeannine Peta Thornley from Nicholsons Chartered Accountants was
chosen as the Vice-President of the Lincoln Area of Lincolnshire
Chamber at its annual general meeting this month.
Jeannine was selected for the role after serving on the
Chamber's Lincoln Area Council for the past three years.
She joined Nicholsons from Business Link Lincolnshire and
Rutland in February 2006, first as marketing co-ordinator and then
marketing manager where her responsibilities include co-ordinating
PR activities, networking, organising events, attracting new
clients and managing relationships with existing ones.
In her new role, Jeannine will work with the Chamber to gather
the opinions of members and local businesses, contribute to board
meetings and represent the interests of business in conversations
with the relevant authorities.
She said: "I'm a true yellow belly and I'm passionate about my
home city of Lincoln, which I think does come across in the
meetings. I'm very interested in what's going on in the local
economy and issues such as transport and tourism which are key
area's for the city at this present time.
"It's a great honour to represent Nicholsons on such a
prestigious body and the additional knowledge I pick up and the
people I meet through my work at the Chamber can only benefit the
firm."
Chamber chief executive Simon Beardsley said: "We are delighted
that Jeannine has accepted the role of Vice President of the
Lincoln Area of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce. We look forward
to working closely together and her becoming one of the integral
members of the Lincoln team.
"Jeannine brings with her to the role expertise and experience
in marketing, leadership, enterprise and events. I'm sure these key
skills will be used to great success for the benefit of the Chamber
and its wider membership."
