Derby law firm Flint Bishop has advised on the management
buy-out of a £15 million turnover roofing and cladding
company.
Metclad Contracts Limited was founded in 1987 and is a leading
contractor within the roofing and cladding industry, having carried
out the cladding works on the Pride Park stadium.
The management buy-out team was led by Marvin Village, Metclad's
MD. The North Notts company, which has 30 employees, was sold for
an undisclosed sum.
Ran Oren of Flint Bishop said: "We advised Marvin Village on the
deal and we are delighted with the outcome for him and his team. We
are confident that this management buy out will see the business
continue to grow, despite the difficult economic climate.
"To see the Metclad ownership transfer to the management team
which has driven a lot of the recent growth is great to see."
Midlands-based business advisory firm RSM Tenon, which has an
office in Derby, also advised on the deal.
Chris Darlington of RSM Tenon said: "This was a particularly
satisfying transaction in the current climate and goes to show that
in these uncertain times, deals can still be done.
"MBOs have been hard to do and difficult to fund over the last
couple of years, which makes this transaction even more pleasing.
Construction is one sector that has struggled over the past 24
months. That Metclad has delivered continued growth and has
completed a successful MBO genuinely reflects the strength of the
business."
Marvin Village said: ''It was a great relief for the
management team and all involved to finally get the MBO done in
what are difficult times for our particular sector of industry.
Having established itself over the last 23 years, we are all
looking forward to taking and developing the business on further
and feeling very positive about the future for the company."
