Edgbaston development, 100 Hagley Road has welcomed a second
retail tenant, the leading professional photographic equipment
retailer, Calumet.
Calumet joins premium music retailer, GUITARGUITAR in occupying
the ground floor retail units of the building, which underwent a
£9 million redevelopment late last year by Calthorpe
Estates.
Established over 75 years, Calumet Photographic is the UK's
leading retailer of professional photographic and AV equipment.
With 10 stores, a dedicated call centre, fully integrated website,
rental facilities and leasing programmes to suit any budget,
Calumet offers an unrivalled service to the serious amateur and
professional photographer.
Michele Channer, Managing Director of Calumet UK commented: "The
investment we have made in Birmingham underscores our total
commitment to this industry. Now photographers in the Midlands have
their own outstanding one-stop photo-shopping experience with the
added benefits of high-class, in-house seminar facilities and new
product ranges. I think Calumet has made a strong statement about
where it sees the future direction of the imaging business."
Calthorpe Estates recently developed the six storey property
where law firm Barker Brettell became the principal occupier of the
5 stories of office space.
The building became one of the first in Birmingham to achieve
the BREEAM 2008 Very Good Environmental and Sustainability
standard. 100 Hagley Road is prominently located on the A456 - one
of the main arterial routes in and out of Birmingham city
centre.
Ralph Minott, director of development for Calthorpe Estates,
added: "We are particularly delighted that Calumet chose 100 Hagley
Road to locate their latest store and that the building's
status as one of Birmingham's landmark properties attracted such a
prestigious retailer keen to locate itself in a prime location
within the city.
