Leicester's Belmont Hotel in De Montfort Street was awarded a bronze medal in last week's East Midlands Tourism Enjoy England Excellence Awards in the large hotel (over 35 bedrooms) category.

Owned and run by the Bowie family for over 75 years, The Belmont Hotel overlooks leafy New Walk, just a few minutes stroll from Leicester city centre. The hotel has a wide selection of rooms, from singles with en-suite bathroom to a mini-suite with its own fireplace and recently refurbished executive bedrooms with contemporary furnishings and fresh bright bathrooms.

Operations Manager James Bowie said: "This is the first time we have entered this competition and we are delighted to have been awarded a bronze. It's a reflection on the hard work and effort all our staff put in day after day to ensure customer service excellence."
