Staffordshire based CP Automated Lighting, has just secured a
contract to work on the refurbishment of Birmingham International
Airport's Terminal 1 building.
Work will commence later this year and will see the company
design and commission an energy efficient automated lighting
control system that will detect how much natural daylight is coming
into the terminal building and reduce the amount of artificial
light needed to maintain a preset programmable lighting level.
James Hart, Director at CP commented "We are obviously delighted
to be awarded such a prestigious contract and this is yet another
example of how flexible our systems are as they can be applied to
almost any building and environment.
"The system will automate and control the amount of light used
in all areas of the building which is in use 24 hours a day, 365
days per year and will thus help the airport reduce its energy
consumption levels," added James.
