The popular Coventry Conversations series welcomes a leading
light from the film industry and a popular TV economist next
week.
Coventry film-maker, Debbie Isitt is to return to familiar
surroundings when she comes to do a Coventry Conversation.
Debbie, a graduate from the School of Art and Design, has made
her name as a writer and film director and last year directed the
hit film "Nativity" which starred Martin Freeman.
Her previous films, "Nasty Neighbours" and "Confetti" received
critical acclaim.
Before her talk on Wednesday 13 October at 1pm, Debbie will be
unveiling a special plaque in the foyer of the Ellen Terry Building
(approximately 12.55pm)
On Thursday 14 October at 1pm, Adam Shaw, the award-winning
financial reporter and presenter, will be talking about his job as
a successful business reporter.
Adam is one of the best known financial experts on television
and radio and has presented numerous programmes for the BBC
including "Working Lunch" and BBC Radio 4's "Financial World
Tonight".
In addition to his work on television and radio, Adam has
written for a number of newspapers.
John Mair, the series organiser, said: "The talks will
offer an insight into the lives of two very busy media
professionals. As a Coventry graduate, Debbie has got where she is
through sheer hard work and her dedication has paid off. Adam is a
consummate professional and the face of financial business
reporting. His knowledge of the financial markets is second to
none."
Both talks take place in Room ETG 34 of the Ellen Terry Building
(the former Odeon cinema) at 1pm.
They are free and members of the public are welcome to
attend.
