Work on a £1million pound redevelopment of a Stafford
prestige car dealership began this weekend, as builders arrived on
site at Knights BMW.
But it's business as usual for staff and customers at Knights,
which will stay open and trading during the six month project to
transform the Radford Bank dealership.
Work has already begun on the redevelopment, which will see the
existing showroom demolished and a brand new dealership built to
house Knight's BMW and MINI sales, service and parts
operations.
Knights BMW dealer principal David McGoldrick said the
investment will create a showcase for BMW and MINI to offer the
ultimate customer experience, while maintaining Knights Stafford's
personal touch.
"We are looking forward to creating a fantastic new environment
for customers to buy and service their BMWs and MINIs, which truly
reflects the Knights brand," he said.
"The investment will create brand new showrooms for BMW and MINI
together with dedicated service reception areas.
"Our customers will be able to relax in a new larger customer
waiting area whilst enjoying a coffee from our very own Starbucks.
There will also be a Playstation to keep the children
happy.
"And the extra display space will accommodate up to 11 cars and
has an indoor handover area, allowing customers to drive their new
and used cars out of the showroom."
"The dealership will also have a dedicated bodyshop reception
desk, as well as new staff offices and canteen facilities.
"And perhaps most importantly, car parking has been extended on
site to ensure there is plenty of space for our customers."
Knights BMW will stay open throughout the development, which
will increase the footprint of the building by 25 per cent, but
there will be no disruption for customers buying or servicing a
car, according to project manager Ewen Morrison.
"The message for all our customers is that we are open for
business as usual through the six month project," he said.
"Although we will have builders on site throughout we will still
have a full range of new and used MINIs and BMWs on sale and a full
service and parts operation.
"And if any customer would like to come in to find out more
about the development or to take a closer look at the artist's
impressions they are more than welcome, especially as we will be
running a series of special offers throughout the period of
redevelopment.
"We are delighted to be up and running with this exciting
project and by the spring of next year we should have a facility
which staff and customers alike will love."
