Harvey Owen, managing partner at Halesowen-based chartered accountancy firm Nicklin LLP, has been recognised for his leading role in the company's success with a prestigious industry award.

Harvey, who has been a partner at Nicklins for 30 years, was named Managing Partner of the Year at this year's 2020 Annual Innovation Awards, which took place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on October 14th.

The awards were organised by 2020 Innovation, the UK's largest voluntary membership organisation for accountancy firms, which held the ceremony as part of its annual conference.

Judges were particularly impressed with the various initiatives overseen by Harvey, including the launch of Nicklin Business Finance to help smaller businesses experiencing difficulties obtaining finance. The service was also extended to firms outside its client base.

Although Harvey was unable to attend the ceremony himself, Nicklins partner Chris Cook was on hand to accept the award on his behalf from former snooker World Champion Steve Davis OBE.

Harvey said: "It's a great honour to win this award, although it's really thanks to the hard work and dedication of the whole Nicklins team that the firm continues to be so successful."
