Do you know your eye of newt from your toe of frog? If not you
need a spell-binding lesson in witchcraft.
During half term week, the Shugborough Estate, near Stafford,
will be hosting twice daily lessons with a difference in the
Victorian schoolroom.
A spooky teacher will deliver a School of Witchcraft lesson to
any pupils eager to find out the tricks of broomstick flying and
how to cast a sleeping spell on mum and dad.
The lessons will take place daily at 1.30 and 3pm from Saturday
23 October until the estate closes on Thursday October 28.
They are just part of the half term week fun which boasts craft
activities, spooky storytimes, quizzes, ghoulish trails and
more.
In the walled garden, families can even pay £2 to carve
one of Shugborough's pumpkins and take it home to display.
The week of autumn fun and frolics will end with Shugborough's
annual Halloween Spooktacular on the Saturday night. This year's
event is promising a squeal and fright around every corner of the
haunted mansion and outside there will be a ghost train, fun fair,
garden ghoul tours, entertainment, food and drink and a spooky
disco.
The estate is open daily until October 28. Shugborough will be
closed on Friday October 29, but will re-open on October 30 from
5pm for the annual Halloween Spooktacular.
