Almost £400 has been donated to Macmillan Cancer Support
by customers at Warwickshire County Council's Eliot Park Innovation
Centre.
The money - which was raised through a charity bbq, Christmas
raffle and clothing sale - was given to the charity in a cheque
presentation ceremony at the centre.
Sarah Darby, fundraising manager at Macmillan Cancer Support,
said: "the generous donation made by customers of Eliot Park
Innovation Centre will help us provide valuable support to people
in Nuneaton and the wider region. We're very grateful for
their donation and continued support."
Duncan Haldane, manager of Eliot Park Innovation Centre, said:
"cancer affects all of us in some way or another and Macmillan
provides an invaluable service to people affected by the disease
and their families. We're proud to support the charity and the
local community with this donation."
On 24 September, Eliot Park Innovation Centre will be taking
part in the 'world's largest coffee morning' to raise further funds
for Macmillan Cancer Support. People are invited to attend the
event between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm to show their support with a
donation and by sampling a piece of home-made cake and to have a
coffee or tea.
Last year, Macmillan's 'world's largest coffee morning' took
place at over 850 venues across the country and raised more than
£7.9 million for people living with cancer.
